I've put two blog-posts on Nanopaprika.eu - The International NanoScience Community (TINC):

"Enzymes and Molecular Machines Can Be Selected from Random Copolymers" gives just the critical argument with regard to mechanomeric selection from and a link to the report of the same name blogged here below.

"Random Mechanomers and Artificial Photosynthesis" is an expansion on the paragraph on that particular set of applications at the end of that report as well as the earlier standalone blog-post on my personal blog.

By way of reward, I guess, TINC "featured" me—like about half the membership:

History of a Theory

The theory of mechanomeric selection began as a private study of senescence and gerontotherapy back in the early '90s, everything examined therein leading to the question, "Wouldn't it be nice to have an enzyme or protein machine to--?"

From there it went within a year to a study and theory of protein development (using random messenger RNAs and cell-free ribosomal protein-synthesizing systems).

And from there it went to the more general study and theory of mechanomeric development, applying itself to itself over and over, the original project now being a barely-alluded-to set of medical applications of a tremendously more general technological study with tremendously general potentials.

The main study exists as a rough informal 22K-word monograph and notes, Random Mechanomers and Mechanomeric Engineering.

A 2K-word condensation was posted to Usenet two years ago, using the earlier terminology "Empirical Mechanomeric Development",
